A better way to recover

Last January, I was fortunate enough to be able to join some of my friends on a base camp trekking experience in the Himalayas, more specifically in the Everest Base Camp. It was quite an adventure to remember because it was my first time on a trekking trip and my first one was already a big one. I wanted to with them because I thought it would be a nice thing to do while on a vacation and keep myself physically healthy at the same time. The hours of walking have really given me a nice push for my workout because I didn’t have to go to the gym where I regularly go to exercise.

It was a nonstop fun as we keep on moving to reach the other side of the mountain, and then continued to make a full circle. The original plan was to climb the mountain and make a camp at the middle of the mountain, but then again, since it was my first, my friends have decided that we should just have a base camp trekking instead. It was really a fun experience for me and next time, hopefully, we could go for the original plan. I’ll make sure that I’ll be physically ready once that happens

My brother had been a victim of alcohol addiction and we were really worried about him that we had to result to sending him off to an alcohol treatment facility to help his dependency to alcohol be removed from his system. Nobody really knows how it started but my hunch is when he lost his job due to the global financial crisis and his dog died a few days after that. His girlfriend first approached us and told us that he was indeed drinking too much and it seems he has been drinking almost every day. I remember when one of my friends had an almost similar problem. We had to send him to drug rehab and made him undergo drug detox to totally remove any trace of the prohibited drugs running through his veins.

It was really hard for all of us but after his detoxification and rehab, , he was a changed man and he’s been always positive in life right after that. I hope my brother could also surpass this phase and he gets well really soon because I don’t want him to stay there for too long. I want him to go back to normal as soon as possible. All of us for that matter…
